Because things are the way they are, things will not stay the way they are.
The Saxon capital Dresden and its surrounding area are increasingly becoming the leading location for microelectronics and the chip industry in Europe. The Dresden University of Technology and numerous scientific institutions are employing more and more scientists from all over the world.
In response to this rapid development into an international economic and scientific hub, Bertolt Brecht Gymnasium will expand its international educational range by including an international class in which English is the language of instruction. In the school year 2026/2027, we will start with an international preparatory class in year 5. From year 6 onwards (school year 2027/2028), it is planned to teach the international class in accordance with the IB-MYP (middle years programme) curriculum ranging from years 6 to 10 which will also offer the prospect of an international middle school certificate in the future.
Preference for admission to the international class is given to students whose native language is not German and whose families are staying in Germany temporarily because of the parents' professional activities.
